MUNICIPAL NURSING HOME

The Municipal Nursing Home of Samos in Vathy (Dael Institution) was founded in 31/01/1955.
The building was a donation of Noemi Dael.
The institution’s resources are the annual subsidy provided by the Municipality, the state’s subsidy, the institution’s income from its assets, the donations and the board fees paid by the elderly inmates.
Its purpose is the relief of the overaged, indigent people and persons who are unable to work, the nursing and hospitalization of chronic and incurable patients as well as bedridden persons who live in the prefecture of Samos, preferably those who are registered in the Municipality of Vathy.
The institution is administered by the Board of Governors which is composed by the President - the Mayor or the Vice Mayor, who is appointed by the Mayor - and 8 members who are elected by the Municipal Council (4 Municipal Councillors, 3 citizens with relative professional or social activity and 1 representative of the employees).
The Nursing Home has 45 beds and rooms of 2, 3 and 4 persons
